The Rotary Club of Roxas' Boys and Girls Officials had their formal session last October 1, 2009 with their counterparts at the Sangguniang Panlunsod. They conducted themselves very well in the session and has passed resolutions, ie., thanking the City Government for accomodating them in their respective offices for 1 week, commending our club for hosting the activity, and most importantly expressing their sympathy and support to the typhoon victims in Manila.
They passed a resolution that was seconded and approved to give financial help of 500,000 pesos from the City Government for the victims of the recent typhoon. Upon endoresement and approval by the Mayor, this aid will go a long way in mending the devastations in Manila and nearby areas that was heavily hit by the calamity.
CONGRATULASTIONS BOYS AND GIRLS
On our end, we have dispatched our first batch of relief goods (mainly rice and dried fish) through ABS-CBN also on October 1, 2009. Another batch will be sent on October 3, and we have coordinated with the PAL manager Roxas PAL Branch that we will be sending cargo c/o PAL Foundation for free starting Monday and onwards. The goods will be received and distributed by our sister club, RC Forbes Park of Makati City.
We have received contributions not just from Rotarians but from several people as well!
It's great to hear when people go out of their way to help those in need... a true example of Service, our vocation as Rotarians!.Best Regards and God bless us all!
