Today, we got a call from PP CHARLIE LASTIMOSO of the Rotary Club of Tagum, District 3860. Apparently, he is the uncle of PP Rommel Lastimoso. He left Roxas City in 1986. He was very happy to recall his roots and he is looking forward to keep the communication open between our clubs.
It was an overwhelming call because he found out of our names with P. Pip in the Phil. Rotary Magazine {PRM}. What a way to keep in touch with our kababayan from Mindanao. It's so amazing what PRM can do for everyone else.
One time, one of the previous proposed projects with the handicapped also originated thru an article and pictures that we posted in the PRM and another local magazines which featured our handicapped children in wheelchairs that was read by one of the past presidents of a Rotary club in Australia just after Typhoon Frank. Now, that project is being materialized just because of that "one call." It is now an international outreach project by that club to be delivered to our handicapped children in STAC -Kalibo very soon. It is still part of our MAKE DREAMS REAL project that is being sustained thru constant communication with PP Lou of RC Brimbank, Australia by both past presidents Pip and Megs as classmate presidents last year. {this is now the second term of P. Pip as club president of RC Roxas.}
It is just an overwhelming feeling to be able to connect and reconnected and to find new friends thru our Public Image and the PRM.
We are looking forward to rendezvous with our fellow Rotarians in that part of Mindanao. soon. For now, let us continue to rekindle the fire of Rotary within us and spread the blessing of friendship thru Rotary.
