My DISCON Moment by PP Megs Lunn

Attending a District Conference will always be a rewarding experience. Seeing old and new friends, meeting new acquaintances and hearing good learning opportunities from speakers, it will always serves as an exciting journey for the year that was and the year ahead.

DISCON 2013 this year with DG Biboy Jocson in the lead, is a smooth success. It's typical Biboy, indeed. He always likes to amaze each and everyone of us with his outstanding speech on stage and its meaningful message. Notwithstanding the ever supportive and beautiful wife, Lady Emily at his side and each fellow Rotarians who pitched in their help, came from afar for attendance, and ably supported by the PDG's of D3850, everything was smoother.

The food was superb, well picked.. and the stage back draft, table setting (personally arranged and folded by Lady Emily) and the Arabian Night was just amazing.

Speakers were at their best and the content was just what we needed. Pity we missed some of our members.

On the other hand, the Governor's ball program a bit too long, some did not stay for the fellowship, but surely, am sure each one has its own memorable experience chatting to each and every Rotarian around, and with their own version of fellowship along side, why not.

Congratulations to the clubs who won some awards. You deserved it!

Over-all, it is always a great deal of a Rotary Moment browsing elbows with the Rotary future leaders and PDG's were we had intellectual conversation, fruitful ideas and exchange of lessons learned and windows of opportunity abound in the midst of our fellowship dinner at the last night.

Thank you Gov Biboy and Lady Emily for making all things possible for all of us. To the men and women who worked behind the scene, your invaluable contribution always count and may the good Lord bless you always!

Now, the job do not stop here. We are moving forward and will work harder in the next few months.

See you on JUNE 1, at the Governor's turn over ceremony in Roxas City. We will surely assure you of more fun in Roxas City.

We are now looking forward to ONE ROTARY PHILIPPINES in 2014!
