Olotayan Island

Our trip to Olotayan Island was worth all the effort...With Govenor Edgar Sy as our important guest and passenger, surely, this time, there is no more 6-feet-wave that can stop us in crossing the sea to see our adopted village..

As we are docking into the shoreline of the island, we can already see the delapidated school fence that is about to collapse anytime and the recently burnt 3 school classroom that includes the school material and equipments of the Day Care Center.

Gov. Edgar Sy made our day for seeing problems as opportunities ,to be able to extend beyond our imagination what we can do to help out...the day before was our club assembly with Zone IV AG/PP Vic Santamaria of RC Kalibo. Each committee chair took turns and reported on their promising projects for the coming months ahead, apart from the many accomplished projects for the first quarter. One more thing, we can't just say NO to the sumptous dinner provided by the first lady of the house of PE Jerry, spouse Susan and the warm hospitality of the P.Pip and his family for hosting the club assembly at their residence.

One day before the club assembly, we have visited another adopted Barangay - Talon of which Rtn. Che-an administered the giving of free medicines to 17 school children who was found anemic during the last screening done by the club 3 months ago. These medicines are supplemental for 3 months and another screening again will be conducted in the coming months ahead to see the development of the children. P. Pip was joined by PP Mark Ortiz, PP Reubin Yap, Rtn. Matti and Rtn. Megs Lunn. DG Edgar previously before his term as District Governor donated two complete sets of computer to Talon Elementary School. His trip is never boring, huh! There is always something to be done when your heart is willing and open.

Going back, Olotayan Island is a 30-minute boat ride, the only island Barangay of Roxas of which RC Roxas has just finished the 3 in 1 + 1 project: Literacy (building the library rooms, putting up the ceiling insulators, bookshelves and the workbooks from DG Edgar), Health (building the health clinic and providing it with some equipments needed for health and wellness), AH1N1 lectures and the plus 1 is the distribution of FREE medicines for children that was found anemic.

The boat ride coming back though wet and a little rough was another exciting learning conversation for P.Pip, PE Jerry, Rtn. Powell and Rtn. Megs with the beloved District 3850 Governor Edgar "Diotay" Sy.

Note: Pictures to follow.

THANK YOU GOVERNOR EDGAR SY and see you more in our upcoming events...
