Pres. Pip's 45 Years Welcome Address
Good evening Fellow Rotarians in Service.
It is with great pride that I welcome everybody to this celebration of a milestone of service and social responsibility.
45 years ago, 34 distinguished and conscientious young men have pursued the challenge of offering one's self to a life of volunteerism, oblivious of the fact that this would have started a noble tradition of service.
45 years hence, we are grateful and privileged to be recipients of this tradition and I am personally challenged by the thought of living and serving 45 more years and even beyond, God-willing...
We are indebted to our 34 charter members, four of whom are still giving back to the community the privilege they themselves were accorded. To borrow the greeting from the morning show, 3 of them are here "live and alive" to remind each one of us about the beauty of Rotary adn the splendor of having lived to witness the 45 years of glorious existence of the organization that they have started.
Tonight, we also offer this fellowship in remembrance of the 30 charter members who have gone ahead and to their families and friends who have understood them and supported them in espousing this road less travelled.
Tonight is a testimony that their efforts have not gone to waste. The noble tradition of service has been genuinely passed on.
Have a great evening and welcome.

Greetings
Pres. Pip,
In a few minutes the delegation from the Rotary of Kalibo will be starting their journey to Roxas City to participate in one of the affairs of your 45TH foundation day. Congratulations, all the best and cheers.
I have to beg off, however, because despite my wish to be there to celebrate and enjoy the fellowship with you and your club, my present schedule will not allow me.I did not foresee that my running as vice-mayor here in Kalibo will take so much of my time this early. So sorry gid.
Anyway, I send my felicitations.
PP Nolly Sodusta

45 YEARS GREETINGS - RI PRESIDENT
01 December 2009
To the members of the
Rotary Club of Roxas,
Dear Fellow Rotarians:
Congratulations to all of you as you celebrate your club’s 45th anniversary.
Forty-five years ago, your club’s charter members felt that Rotary’s ideal of service to the community was worthy and credible, and for this reason they laid the foundation for a Rotary club in Roxas.
Today, your club continues to bring new ideas and fresh enthusiasm to a tradition of service that has spanned generations. This year, as you reflect on past accomplishments, I ask you to continue to lead Rotary into the next century of service. Continue to focus on projects that provide clean water, improve health and eliminate hunger, and advance literacy in clubs and districts around the world.
As you celebrate this important milestone in your club’s history, remember the responsibility for Rotary is yours. Take pride each day in the decisions you make and the actions you take, because these choices are determining the course of Rotary for us all. I can think of no place better to entrust the strength of this organization than to the members who have built it. Truly, The Future of Rotary is in Your Hands.
Sincerely,
John Kenny
President, 2009–10

“Being a member of Rotary Club of Roxas has given me the opportunity to help and contribute to the province I love – positively impacting communities and affecting change for all Capiznons. It made it more meaningful when I found out that my Rotary Club is the club where my Grandfather, Atty. Jose Villacin was a Charter member and the 3rd President of the club. That’s the beauty of being a Rotarian. It is knowing that there is a purpose for each existence and whatever that may be. It is also the reason why we still wake up each day to discover the missing piece of puzzle that would make our lives complete.”
