It is with great pleasure that I
welcome and congratulate all the candidates of this year’s Regional Search for
Ten Outstanding Student of the Philippines. Rotary Club of Roxas, District 3850
is very privilege to host you here in Roxas City, Capiz and that we are able to
share some time together.
Knowing that each of you are a
candidate to be one of the ten outstanding students of the Philippines I
believe there are qualities that link all of you. Surely you are intelligent
and hard working. Being those things are the only explanation for good academic
performances. Each of you must also have a compass that always points towards
what is good and what is right. So for all the traits that are admirable in
you, congratulations.
I am congratulating you because
being hard working is something to be respected. Striving for excellence pushes
every cell in your body towards effort and always persisting despite whatever
challenges is not at all an easy task.
You’re place here is a blessing
because you are in a position to inspire young Filipinos such as yourself. Continue
to strive for excellence and integrity. I tell you, integrity is everything –
to do the right thing whether someone is looking whether you’re alone. Where
ever you are, whoever you are with, act in a way that reflects the best of who
you are and your highest dreams.
We all share our responsibilities
in building greatness in the Filipino people and doing good that can hopefully
transform this nation. One last thing but ironically maybe the most important,
put God first. He is the source of all our strength and talent. Let his
blessings to you flow through you so that it can flow to other people.
