CRAAHS - THIRD TIME RECIPIENT OF GLOBAL GRANT FROM ROTARY INTERNATIONAL

A Rotary Global Grant on TechVoc for Architectural Drawing, Cosmetology and Carpentry (GG 1860399) will be awarded soon to the Congressman Ramon A. Arnaldo High School (CRAAHS) in Banica, Roxas City. The global grant is thru the generous assistance and donations of the Rotary Club of Roxas, D3850 and its international partner Rotary Club of Jecheon Woelac, D3740 Republic of Korea and The Rotary Foundation.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed last July 13, 2017 at CRAAHS, Banica, Roxas City between Pres. Megs S. Lunn of Rotary Club of Roxas, Pres. Yeong-Ki Jang of Rotary Club of JeCheon Woelac and Mr. Rodrigo Jeremias, Jr., School Administrator of CRAAHS as the cooperating organization. It was witnessed by the Department of Education, Division of Roxas City, the students and other stakeholders.

After the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), the Rotarians proceeded to the Groundbreaking Ceremonies of the direct grant from the partner club to build a new building to house the carpentry equipment, etc.

This global grant project aims to support the K-12 educational system of the Philippines of which CRAAHS for the third time is a recipient of this goodwill from the Rotarians and The Rotary Foundation.

Pres. Megs in her message during the program said, “We look forward to its sustainability. With this project, it will answer some of the goals of Rotary International on literacy and economic and development. It will greatly make dreams real for our students who are the direct beneficiaries of this project. We hope that teachers and students will take this opportunity to take good care of the equipment and use it (not just display), because they have given something very noble and useful that others do not have the opportunity to have.”

After the MOU signing and groundbreaking, the group proceeded to Sapian for the community outreach where they distributed more or less 100 bags of school supply kits to Agtacacay Norte Elementary School.

Rotarians give regularly to The Rotary Foundation. It helps fuel their service projects that improve developing communities, as well as promote peace and understanding, goodwill and friendship. It also helps achieve its life-changing humanitarian and educational projects and most significantly, eradicate polio as one of the very important mission of Rotary International.
