The Rotary Club of Roxas is sponsoring the Roxas City Leg of the 33rd National Milo Marathon on Sunday, August 16, 2009. Five thousand marathon participants are expected to crowd the Roxas City Plaza.
The starting gunshot will be fired by no less than DG Edgar Sy at 5:30 am for the 21K runners, to be followed by Roxas City Mayor Vic Bermejo to start the 10K elimination. This year, the marathon are divided into four categories: 3K and 5K fun runs, 10K and 21K elimination rounds, winners of the 2 latter categories will be sent to Manila to compete for the National elimination.
A cheering competition will also be held simultaneously which will be participated in by different schools in Roxas City and Capiz.
This is the 4th year that the club is hosting the Milo Marathon with PP Mark Ortiz at the helm.As of presstime, the 3k and 5k categories are already closed.
Those interested can still register for 10k and 21k runs.
