GK BAYANIHAN DAY

by: Jessica Veronique O. Yu, GD Dinginan Capiz

Rotary International District 3850 and Rotary Club of Roxas does it again!
True to their commitment to make a difference in the lives of the community whom they met a few months ago, this second bayanihan day was totally unexpected.
We witnessed the heroism of the members of this very noble organization as they have individually or collectively continued to strengthen their ties to the families they met back then.

They have opened doors of opportunities for a better life. Some lives will never be the same because of good people like them.
The poorest will no longer be poor when we start to journey with them. It is not just the talent and treasures that matter. It's the POWER of PRESENCE.
Today, Rotary, Robinsons Bank, Alibata Association and Brgy. II Youth return to the community to inspire hope,
love, and the culture of caring.
GK Bayanihan Day Rotary volunteers has also engaged their family and friends into doing good.

Madamo gid nga salamat.
For God and Country!

World Polio Day 2017

Sapian, Capiz. In the campaign and celebration of the World Polio Day (2017), D3850 Gov. Jundad Legislador and Rotary Club of Roxas, in partnership with the Rural Health and Municipality of Sapian, Capiz, continue the campaign on public awareness of Rotary's significant contribution in the eradication of polio worldwide.

Thru the World Health Organization, ROTARY is instrumental to make the vaccines/drops available and free to the community. They donate their resources (time and money) to help end polio. Bill-Melinda Gates Foundation matched their contribution and the countdown to history begins.

An additional of 9 kids benefited at Sapian RHU last October 24, 2017, after they have served a significant of 25 kids earlier in the morning of the same date in Brgy. Mongpong, Roxas City, Capiz.

In Mongpong, the Roxas City Health officer, Midwives, Brgy Health Workers and Nurses facilitated the event with Brgy. Captain Ricardo Donato.

Also, after the end polio drops, the group had the chance to visit Sapian National High School where more or less 100 teachers were informed about the World Polio Day celebration and its importance to the community, not to mention that Rotary plays a big significant role to making the vaccine/drops available and free for all. Everyone was surprised about the information.

It was a very meaningful day for all. Thank you Rotary for #endpolio day. Let's continue to Make A Difference.
