D3850 ALERT

DEAR ALL FELLOW ROTARIANS CONCERNED:

Please be reminded that you have until JUNE 24 to report to RI thru rotary.org/Member Access your incoming officers.

All Planning Guides for Effective Rotary Clubs must also be submitted to our District Office by then, too.

We are also encouraging all Incoming Presidents to give US$100 to the Rotary Foundation by June 24. This is our First Class initiative as advocated by RI President Ron Burton himself.  I hope that we will all find it light in our hearts to start our Rotary Year with this gesture.

Thanks,

MG 75939 POTABLE WATER AT BRGY.TALON

Alas! We took the opportunity to visit Brgy Talon the day after DISTAS 2013 in the morning of June 2, 2013.

Luckily, Gov. Biboy, IDG Mark and DGN Jude came along together with PP Reubin, Rtn. Bem-Bem (RC Boracay) and I to take a symbolic picture (turn-over) of the Water Matching Grant project of the club, RCC Talon, Brgy Talon community and the Water District of Roxas.

The pipeline is 2 thousand linear meter long, of which the source of water is about 1 kilometer long away. From the original 40 houses who applied for water connection, we were able to give connection to about 60 houses, and maybe more in the next few days.

This is ROTARY! The joy to serve and the joy to making people feel at PEACE that they will no longer get sick from the water contamination.

No more water borne diseases as we bid goodbye to the community and a promise that we will be back for the formal turn-over of such. The marker is yet to be finalized by PP Ruiben.
Thank you to D3850 and to our International Partner at D6110 USA for making things possible for our adopted Barangay community.

One of the Rotary's areas of focus is Water and Sanitation. We recognize this as one of the six areas of focus to be very beneficial to create PEACE in the communities around the world.

We take this in broad range to response to the specific need of the community that we serve.
To all of you who have helped the committee to make things happen, MARAMING SALAMAT PO!

May we continue to serve with joy as we see our unfortunate sisters and brothers at peace in the community, because YOU and I have made a difference.
